National Centre for Propulsion and Power

The National Centre for Propulsion and Power (NCPP), housed within the New Whittle Laboratory at Cambridge, is designed to dramatically accelerate  technology development for aviation and power generation. It includes a 4MW wind tunnel and a flexible 1.2MW rotating rig facility, plus a 60-tonne pressure vessel enabling entirely new testing capability in the UK. The NCPP aims to bring Formula-1-style rapid iteration to decarbonising flight and energy.
